A message from Pascal Vaillancourt – Executive Director of Interligne

By WebmestreHome, News

It is with great pleasure that I join the Interligne family. The position of executive director of this organization, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary, is one that stimulates me immensely. Having evolved in the field of education and as a member of the Canadian Forces, I was able to see that Interligne is ever relevant. With the well-being of others at the heart of my concerns, it is to Interligne that I wanted to dedicate myself in order to improve the daily lives of those concerned with sexual and gender diversity.

My predecessor, Mr. Christian Paul Carrière, proved to be devoted, dynamic and attuned to the needs of others, in addition to being an advocate of teamwork. I intend to continue along this path, in order to allow Interligne to evolve and adapt to the emerging realities of LGBT communities everywhere.

Having been occupying this position for only a few days, I am still in the process of becoming familiar with the various files. I am looking forward to meeting all those involved in LGBT community organizations, as well as listening and support lines. I will be present at various Montreal Pride events in August in an effort to make many of your acquaintances. I understand the importance of creating sustainable partnerships with other organizations within the same milieu. It is, therefore, with immense satisfaction that I will collaborate with those who are committed to supporting LGBT communities.

With respect to the employees and volunteers of Interligne, I see my role as that of a facilitator. Rallying together everyone’s forces is my greatest motivator; I must mention that anyone who wishes to support the mission of Interligne is welcome to join such a formidable team.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Board of Directors for the trust they have placed in me. Throughout my exchanges with Mr. Asselin, the president of Interligne, not only did his high degree of involvement come through, it also became clear that we are both firm believers of a participatory management style. As such, it is with great enthusiasm that I will be collaborating with M. Asselin and his team.
