In the medical system and in everyday life, intersex people continue to be invisible, yet they account for between 1.7% and 3% of births worldwide.<\/p>\n
In addition, certain surgical and hormonal procedures that run counter to human rights continue to be carried out.<\/p>\n
Hasty decisions about sex, treatments prescribed – not to say forced – by the medical profession in order to “correct” bodies, and the minimization of their psychological and physical effects on the people concerned are excessively disturbing realities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
